What is web?

WEB, which stands for "Where Everyone Belongs", is a nationally-based program that teams up incoming 6th graders with 8th grade mentors to help make the transition to middle school a little easier. Through games, activities, celebrations and more, WEB works towards building a stronger, more connected student body all year.

what kind of students are we looking for?

As the name states, WEB is for everyone. We are recruiting 7th-grade students who are interested in making a positive impact at Odyssey. We need students who want to help make the transition to middle school a little less intimidating. We are looking for students who are not afraid to be a little goofy, but most of all, we are looking for kindness. Does that sound like you? Join WEB!

Being a WEB Leader is a year-long commitment. Here are the things you are expected to attend.

• Group Interview: April 28th, during school

• Spring Play Day: May 15th, you will be excused from afternoon classes to attend

• WEB Leader training: Thursday, August 13th AND Friday, August 14th, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

• 6th Grade Orientation: Thursday, August 20st, 7:00 am - 12:15 pm

• First day of school: Monday, August 24th; wear your WEB Leader shirt and be outside to greet sixth graders and anyone else, and help them get where they need to go.

• First WEB Leader meeting: Thursday, August 27th, during lunch, place to be determined, food provided!

• Attend the “Back to School Bash”: Friday, September 4th, connect with your 6th graders and invite them to attend the social with you!

• Attend regular WEB Leader meetings: weekly, typically during PLT

• Be available for Follow-up activities throughout the year.

what kind of activities do web leaders do?

We plan and run all kinds of activities to help bring Odyssey Middle School together! This year we hosted the Back to School Bash, Halloween Trick or Treating at lunch, Odyssey After Dark, WEB Whatevers, and WEB Lunches. We've played student shuffleboard and organized Secret Elf notes. We also plan the 6th-grade field day in June. WEB is a place where you can get involved in building the kind of community you want to see in our school.

How do i become a web leader?

If you are a current OMS 7th grader, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and are driven to create an even better OMS community, fill out an application. Applications are available NOW at school. They are EVERYWHERE! Just ask any teacher. Get your application to Mrs Motsinger by
