By now, you have hopefully spoken to our Office Manager, Mrs E Atkinson, to say that you accept the place you've been offered with us. When you speak to her, she'll check a few details to make sure we can keep in touch. You can contact her on 0161 300 5900.
Monday 30 June: Induction meeting for parents and carers. We will help you get ready for your child’s transition to secondary school during this evening.
Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 July - Induction Day for first half of new cohort (during school day)
Thursday 3 and Friday 4 July - Induction Day for second half of new cohort (during school day)
Saturday 5 July: Uniform Collection Day (we will provide your child's first blazer and tie for free, and you will be able to buy PE kits). There will be arrangements for anyone who can’t make this date.
Tuesday 2 September, 8:30am: First day of school for Year 7.
We have made a page written just for pupils. Encourage them to watch the videos and read the information.
Or even better - work through the page with them!
When Manchester City Council offers you a place, they share only limited information about your child, and we need more information to make your child feel welcome and to look after them for the next few years. We are asking parents and carers to complete this form by Wednesday 20 March 2025.
This information includes things like dietary requirements, emergency contact details and information we need to report on our school census.
Please note that we require details of all the adults with parent responsibility for your child, and we require the full contact details for at least two adults we can contact in an emergency.
You will be emailed a password to this form, which is completed online. If you have any issues, please contact us via manc-enquiries@coopacademies.co.uk or 0161 795 3005.
School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime, and they can also save you time and money.
Claiming free school meals also helps the school. We get extra funding, known as the ‘pupil premium’, for every eligible pupil who is registered.
Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you receive any of the following:
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance
Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (as long as you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on
Universal Credit
This comes in two stages:
Collect some branded items directly from the academy - Saturday 5 July 2025 or by appointment
Get some other items from clothes stores / big supermarkets before September.
The blazer and tie will be provided free of charge by the academy this year. However you will have to purchase the PE kit (polo shirt, thick reversible long sleeve games shirt and shorts) at a cost.
Ties will be given out when the students arrive in September. The colours of the tie will show which Year Group each student is part of.
There is a compulsory PE kit and all students need to have one (branded multi-top, polo shirt and shorts). We are able to sell all three items as a bundle for £30.
If you cannot attend the academy to collect the uniform on uniform collection day, you can collect it after that date – by appointment only.
In July, we will be inviting your child in to the academy for two full days. During these days they will meet some key people, such as the Principal, their Heads of Year, teachers and more. They will be taken on tours of the building and we will do all we can to make them feel welcome.
We will write to you nearer the time with the precise information.
We will also be working with your child's primary school and letting them know about these dates.
If you missed this event, you now can now catch-up with some of the key messages by watching this video.
We keep in touch with parents and carers on the Arbor Parent Portal. It makes it cheaper for us to keep in touch (more money for trips etc!) and allows you to message us for free.

Once registered, we recommend that you download and sign into the Arbor app to enable push notifications.
How does it work? You can login when your child officially starts with us in September - you must use the email address we have on our database for you. Click 'First time logging in?' to finish setting up your account for the first time.
Students need to bring a pen, pencil and ruler every day.
Remember, you can also find lots of information about the school from our main website https://manchester.coopacademies.co.uk/
