I have teaching interests in the areas of:
Metaphysics, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Physics, Philosophy of Mind, and Philosophy of Religion.
Lecture Courses
The following are university courses I have taught or to which I have contributed lectures:
Undergraduate course, Philosophy Department, University of Durham, 2023-4.
In 2023-4, I contributed lectures on hylomorphism and cosmopsychism.
In 2024-5, I will be contributing lectures on dualism, causal closure, hylomorphism and cosmopsychism. I am also tutoring for this course.
Masters course, Philosophy Department, University of Durham, 2024-5.
In 2024-5, I contributed a seminar on Individuating Minds in a Quantum World.
Masters course, Philosophy Department, University of Durham, 2024-5.
In 2024-5, I contributed a seminar on Quantum Humeanism.
Undergraduate course, Philosophy Department, University of Durham, 2022, 2023.
In 2022-3, I contributed a lecture on the metaphysics of quantum mechanics and quantum realism, and a lecture on the 'argument from non-separability' against Humeanism.
In 2023-4, I contributed lectures on (Super-)Humeanism, Powerism, and the theory of Cosmic Hylomorphism.
Mixed-level course co-lectured with Michael Esfeld, Robert Koons, & Brian Pitts , Faraday Institute, Cambridge (UK), 2021
I organised the course, introduced each of the lectures, and provided context and cohesion for the course's three components. I helped the students understand the differences between the different philosophical systems that were presented.
Videos are available.
Enrichment Programme on Science and Religion, Cambridge (UK), Faraday Institute, 2020, 2021
Philosophy of Science Submodule (Lent, 2021), Undergraduate teaching on emergence in physics
Philosophy of Religion Submodule (Michaelmas, 2020), Undergraduate teaching on divine action
Philosophy of Cosmology Submodule (Lent, 2020), Undergraduate teaching on the anthropic principle
Seminars & Discussion Groups
The following are university seminar series which I have led or co-led:
Graduate Conference Course, Philosophy Department, University of Texas at Austin, Spring 2023.
A discussion of the ontology of classical field theory and quantum mechanics using the following texts (co-lead with Robert Koons):
Maudlin, T., (2019), Philosophy of Physics, Princeton University Press, chp. 1-7
Lange, M. (2002), An introduction to the philosophy of physics : locality, fields, energy and mass, Oxford: Blackwell, chp. 1-8
with reference to additional papers.
A mixed-level, biweekly seminar I led, which included a biweekly reading group that alternated with the seminar. The course took place at St Andrews (UK) under the auspices of the School of Divinity, as part of the ‘Scientists in Congregations’ project, 2014-5.

The following are undergraduate university courses in which I have served as a supervisor or tutor:
Undergraduate course, Philosophy Department, University of Durham, 2023-4.
In 2024-5, I tutored for this course.
St Andrews (UK), Physics Department, 2012
Co-supervision with U. Leonhardt of S. Bugler-Lamb
Cambridge (UK), Faraday Institute, 2020, 2021
Philosophy of Science Submodule (Lent, 2021)
Philosophy of Religion Submodule (Michaelmas, 2020)

Undergraduate Assessment & Examination
The following are undergraduate courses for which I have served as an assessor by writing the exam and/or marking the exam and/or marking coursework:
Cambridge (UK), Philosophy Faculty, 2022
My role (along with Professor Richard Holton) was to write the exam paper for this course and to mark the scripts [53 scripts].
Cambridge (UK), Philosophy Faculty, 2022
My role was to mark exam scripts.
St Andrews (UK), Physics Department, 2012
My role was to assess student coursework. Short assignments were issued every week, and longer assignments were issued periodically.
