Cambridge has direct rail connections to London and other major cities. 

• From London King’s Cross: approximately 50 minutes 

• From London Liverpool Street: approximately 1 hour 10 minutes

• From Stansted Airport: approximately 30 minutes

The main station is Cambridge Station, located about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the city centre and the Faculty of Music. Taxis and regular buses are available outside the station.

Tips: Advance rail tickets are usually cheaper if booked early. Buses are cash (exact change only), card, or tap-to-pay.

By Air

The most convenient airports are:

• London Stansted (STN) – the closest airport (about 30 minutes by train or 45 minutes by car)

• London Heathrow (LHR) – about 2 hours by coach or train

• London Gatwick (LGW) – about 2–2.5 hours by train

From Stansted Airport, direct trains run frequently to Cambridge.

By Coach

National coach services operate regular routes to Cambridge.

• Direct coaches run from London Heathrow and London Gatwick

• Journey times from London typically range from 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic

The main coach stop is Parkside, close to the city centre.

From Cambridge Station to the Faculty of Music

Options include:

• Taxi: approximately 10 minutes

• Bus: Citi buses run regularly towards the city centre

• Walking: approximately 30 minutes

• Cycling: Cambridge is very cycle-friendly
