The Research Students' Conference in Probability and Statistics is the longest running student-led conference in the UK. Now in its 49th edition, this is a conference organised for PhD students by PhD students. The RSC creates a space for PhD students and pre-doctoral resarchers across the UK and Europe to come together and discuss their latest research in a collaborative, supportive environment of peers.
Following online and hybrid versions around the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference has returned to a fully in-person format, encouraging PhD student to meet their fellow academic peers in a different host city across the UK each year. Passed from university to university, the conference also creates opportunities for PhD students to take on more senior conference roles often reserved for prominent academics at other conferences, such as chairing sessions.
The previous editions of RSC were organised in Glasgow (2025), Exeter (2024) and Sheffield (2023). The graphic below depicts the historical movement of RSC over the past 49 editions.*

This year in Cambridge for the 49th edition, the conference focusses on accessiblity and inclusion to encourage as many researchers as possible to attend and share their work as a talk or poster, no matter how early-stage it is. Submissions are not assessed or excluded on quality grounds, all submissions related to the listed topics are accepted and encouraged.
As a conference aimed at PhD students, there is also an industry flavour to the conference and we look forward to welcoming industry partners who will also present featured talks at the conference and be available to interact with other delegates. Specific sponsors and featured talks to be released soon!
