I'm keen to engage in other forms of media aside from writing and research, and strongly believe that effective science communication is an essential element of all inquiry. Prior to returning to academic work I was a health journalist in New York, and spent a lot of time there interviewing researchers about their work. Today I both like to interview and to talk about my own writing, and have appeared on numerous radio shows and podcasts across the world.
On the left is a link to our recent podcast, Streets in the Sky, which I hosted and which explores how society, housing, and health are all inextricably linked — and how some of the poor housing decisions we've collectively made over the last century have led to a huge number of social and public health problems today. Streets in the Sky was produced by Lily Austin, with funding from Cambridge Public Health and the Rudd Centre, Cambridge.
Below are clips from my appearances on from the Times Radio, 5 Live Drive, and RTE Radio 1 Drivetime.
