The map below shows the distribution of specimens housed in the Cambridge Herbarium that were collected by Hugh Cuming during his voyage to the Philippines.
Cuming sold several sets of his specimens to other individuals and institutions, for example Friedrich Ernst Ludwig von Fischer (1782-1854). Cuming specimens are now found in Herbariums all over the world, and this distribution map may be helpful for understanding the totality of his collecting practices in the Philippines.
By scrolling your mouse over the multicoloured pie charts, and moving around the map of the Philippine Islands, you can see which specimens were collected in which location.
