Summer reading assignment
Directions: Based on your reading of Mere Christianity by CS Lewis, answer the following questions in one to two paragraphs each. Answers should be typed and checked for grammar and spelling. Any resources should be cited on a Works Cited page in correct MLA format. This assignment is due on the first day of school. Points will be deducted for late submissions. This course will prepare students for success in reading and writing at a college level. Classes are designed to foster mature writing skills, in-depth literary and cultural analysis, and an appreciation for the complexity and achievement of British literature and culture—all studied through the lens of a Christian worldview. Student success will rely on extensive independent reading, the continued mastery of advanced vocabulary.
This year we will be using the Socratic Seminar method to engage students in critical thinking, reading, and listening skills.
