We want to have FUN in our PE class! Our program is designed to create a fun and encouraging atmosphere that ignites a desire to want to stay active outside the classroom.
Physical Education is an essential part of elementary students' education as it prepares the students for healthful and well living as they grow.
Calvary Christian Academy recognizes the importance in supplying its students with the information needed to apply healthful principals to their lives. We promote the recognition that bodies are created by God to worship Him with movement, abilities, and actions. Further, the every day activities and interactions in which students engage is how we commune with our Creator.
The Physical Education program for elementary students is designed to first introduce the students to the various ways their bodies move and the relationship their bodies have in the space around them through a variety of movements in the younger grades. Then, in upper elementary, the goal is to promote the development and mastery of skills learned previously and the teaching of new skills required for sports and games that teach them how to use their bodies and encourage health, fitness, sportsmanship, and cooperation.
Topics covered in elementary Physical Education are: spatial awareness, loco-motor movements, balancing techniques, catching and throwing, kicking, cooperative play, hand-eye coordination, eye-foot coordination, individual sports, and team sports.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
