All About Mrs. Logan

As you read in my summer letter, I am entering my 12th year teaching kindergarten at CCA! It feels like just yesterday that I was dreaming of my first classroom while student teaching at CCA. Boy, have the years truly flown by! I love my CCA family, and feel like this school is such a blessings in so many ways. I feel very fortunate to be apart of what God is doing here at CCA, and look forward to having your children join me this year!

So, how did I ever get to where I am now? I grew up in Lancaster, PA, right in the heart of Amish Country. In fact, the public school district that I graduated from has a one room school house for the Amish that live in our district! Growing up, I loved sports, music, and school. My first grade teacher actually inspired me to be a teacher, which is something that has stuck with me through the years!

After graduation, I chose to attend Philadelphia Biblical University with a major in Early Childhood Education and Bible. Although the Bible classes were challenging and thought-provoking, I would not have wanted it any other way. I feel like that experience helped me grow so much in my faith, and learn that my abilities would only get me so far, but God Himself could get me through anything that comes my way.

I was assigned to do my student teaching at Calvary in kindergarten. At that time, I did not even know CCA existed, but the summer before I started my placement I heard all kinds of great stories from other PBU student teachers who loved their experience. I was placed with Mrs. Hershey, and she taught me a great deal about kindergarten. That placement helped to to fall in love with this age group, and found my love of teaching this age.

I finished up my student teaching in Bensalem School District, and spent 6 months subbing at local school districts. Mrs. Hershey retired the year after I student taught, and I was hired as her replacement. What a blessing to be able to go back to the classroom where I student taught and start my career!

Soon after I was hired at CCA, I started to coach the high school girls basketball team and middle school girls softball team. Sports was always a big part of my life growing up, and I feel blessed to be able to minister to the girls upstairs . In addition, I coached a travel softball team for 3 years out of Bristol, PA. This was a great witnessing and outreach opportunity which helped me grow as a Christian and a coach!

I love technology, so decided to go back to school in 2012 to get my Master's degree in Educational Technology and a graduate certificate in Technology Integration K-12. I graduated from Boise State University in May 2014, and since then have worked hard to integrate technology into our kindergarten routine. I also have extra training in different educational technology tools that relate to our school, and providing training to our teachers at CCA.

In March of 2016 I got married to my husband Josh, who is a missionary through Campus Crusade for Christ High School ministry. He works at local public high schools such as Truman and Bucks County Technical High School. We bought a house in Bristol Township and are blessed to live right next door to my brother and sister in law and my two nieces and nephew!

This past spring, we welcomed our first child into our family. Our daughter Eliana was born in March, and we love to watch her grow and show her wonderful little personality already!

As far as this summer goes, I have spent time enjoying my dogs, doing some home renovations, working as the school secretary, and going to the beach in my spare time. While I had a very relaxing summer, I am more than ready to get back to the classroom and start the year off strong!

So, that is my story as of now. I look forward to this upcoming year, and cannot wait to see your children grow and develop. Thank you so much for entrusting me for your child's education. I look forward to getting to know you all and can't wait to start the new "K2 Family" :)
