Hello!
My name is Jess Painter and I am very excited to be teaching your child! This will be my 11th year teaching at CCA. My first six years were spent teaching Kindergarten and following that, I moved to 1st grade.
You can read more about my teaching background in my summer letter (also featured below). Teaching is one of my great loves. The LORD is of course my greatest love! You can read more about how I came to know Him as my Lord & Savior as well as more about my church in my summer letter. My family is my other great love! Pictured to the side, you can see me with Mr. Painter. Below us you can see our 6-year-old son, Malachi with our 5-year-old daughter, Samantha; and our 3-year-old daughter, Danielle with our 1-year-old collie, Lucy. This year at CCA, Malachi will be in 1st grade (just like you!); Samantha will be in Kindergarten; and Danielle will be in the 3-year-old Pre-K class. Our collie will not be attending CCA. ;-)
This summer, we went on vacation to Bar Harbor, Maine and fell in love with the area!! Hiking, swimming in lakes, eating real Maine "lob-stah"... it was amazing! I also spent a lot of time listening to Alistair Begg podcasts as well as podcasts on the Science of Reading. I took an online class about the Science of Reading a couple of summers ago and the podcasts help to keep me up-to-date on the latest research and trends so that I can bring that knowledge to the classroom. We are going to have an incredible year developing into strong readers!
In my spare time, I love shopping at Target! I also love hiking and camping, drinking Mocha-Mint Frappachinos from Starbucks, reading, and going out to dinner. My favorite restaurants are Texas Roadhouse, La Stalla in Newtown, and the Irish Rover in Penndel. Mr. Painter is a great cook so I also love learning new recipes from him. One of our favorite things to do together is to make new recipes together... especially chicken wings with interesting sauces. If you ever have any unique wing sauce recipes to share, feel free... or any other yummy recipe for that matter! ;-)
Each year before school starts, I go through my devotions and pray about what God will have me focus on for the coming school year. I cannot wait to share with you at Back to School Night about what God has been putting on my heart. I look forward to meeting you at our Open House! I am also looking forward to a fabulous year of learning, fun and growing in the Lord.
