Mission
The mission of Calvary Christian School’s guidance office is to help all students in developing their academic goals, discovering potential career paths, deepening their Christian faith as a disciple of Christ, and reaching their full potential spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, for the glory of God.
Philosophy
Calvary Christian School believes that all students were created for a unique purpose according to God. We believe that all students are called to go and make disciples according to the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:16-20. We believe that Christian education and guidance can help form a strong and lasting faith to help students in discovering their career and calling.
Goals
We aim to guide students academically in course selection and levels, internships, and extra-curricular activities to gain a clearer picture of the gifts and talents God has given them.
We aim to guide students towards specific career paths and the colleges that are the best fit for them both financially and according to their strengths.
We aim to help students as they transition into high school and then again as they transition into college.
We aim to facilitate the development of a clear lasting Christian worldview that guides all future decision making and daily actions.
And lastly we aim to grow students who have a clear understanding of the Great Commission and understand that they are called by our creator to go and make disciples in whatever career path they find themselves.
We aim to accomplish these goals through the following
Yearly individual meetings and as needed meetings
Grade level guidance sessions
9-11th grade PSAT testing and results readings
Youscience career assessment to guide career choices
Education on college application and financial aid process
Individual improvement plans for academically struggling students
Annual Career event
College lunch visits
Internship or shadow day opportunities to clarify career paths
