UAAP SEASON 85

A COMEBACK FROM the pandemic 

Capping off this 2022 season is the UAAP Swimming Chmapionships held in the newly renovated Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool last November 24 to 27, 2022. CAL swimmers from different universities continued to dominate several events. A total of 48 CAL swimmers from UP, Ateneo and UST participated in this prestigious meet.

Results show spectacular performances of our CAL swimmers in different events of the Men's, Women's, Boys' and Girls' Division.  Here are our CAL swimmers who have been awarded as Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the meet.

A shoutout to Thanya dela Cruz for setting three new Philippine National records in all breaststroke events. In the 50 meter breaststroke, she broke her old record as she registered a new time of 31.11 a month after hitting of 31.35 (October 13, 2022 during the Grand Prix Swimming Championships). Suprisingly, she also registered a time of 1:08.64 in the 100 meter breaststroke and 2:30.42 in the 200 meter breaststroke, breaking Desirae Mangaoang's records.

Despite being in different schools, our swimmers have continued to show camaraderie and good sportsmanship with their fellow teammates. Looking forward to another amazing season next year!
