Minimum Age
We’d love to help your child start their swimming journey!
The youngest students we accept are 3 years old. During classes, it will only be your child in the pool with our coaches and other students. Parents are welcome to watch the class in a designated area. We also offer Little Swim Classes for this age group.
For children aged 3–5 years, we usually schedule an assessment session to see how well they adjust to the class environment and their coach.
At this age, our focus is on helping little ones feel comfortable and confident in the water. Classes are fun and play-based, making their first swimming experiences positive and enjoyable.
Little Swim
We also offer Little Swim Classes, exclusively at Makati Sports Club, for children 5 months to 5 years old. This is a coach-guided program where students participate in the water together with their parent or guardian.
These sessions focus on water familiarization, safety, and building early confidence in a fun, supportive environment. It’s a wonderful introduction to swimming for babies and toddlers before transitioning to independent group classes.
Maximum Age
There is no maximum age to join our swim classes. We welcome teens and adults of all skill levels, whether you’re learning for the first time, overcoming water fear, or improving your strokes.
Our coaches adjust each lesson based on your comfort level and goals. For adult students, we encourage you to share your personal swimming goals with our coaches so we can tailor the sessions to your needs, whether it’s water safety, stroke improvement, endurance, or simply building confidence in the water.
It’s never too late to learn how to swim, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Open to guests
Most of our swim classes are held in members-only sports clubs, while some select programs may be offered in partner venues. Non-members are still welcome to join our classes, there will just be an additional guest fee for pool and facility access that need to be paid once per enrollment along with the Learn to Swim program rate.
Class Structure
Our swim classes are not done in batches. Each class is individualized and progressive, meaning the coach adapts the lesson based on what each student already knows and what they need to improve.
To ensure effective learning:
For toddlers and students aged 6 and below, the maximum coach-to-student ratio is 1:4.
For students aged 7 and above, including adults and advanced swimmers, the maximum ratio is 1:6.
On the first day, we usually conduct a brief assessment to see what the student already knows. From there, the coach designs lessons that progress gradually, building on existing skills and addressing areas for improvement.
This approach ensures every student receives personalized attention, progresses at their own pace, and develops confidence in the water.
Competitive Classes
Competitive Class is designed for students who already know all the basic strokes and want to refine their technique and improve performance.
In these classes, students train in a group setting, following a program led by a coach. The focus is on stroke correction, endurance, speed, and advanced skills, helping swimmers become stronger and more efficient in the water.
This program is ideal for students aiming to participate in swim competitions or who want to join our Swim Teams.
CAL Swim Teams
Some of our Learn to Swim program venues also serve as home pools for our Swim Teams.
Swim teams are designed for those who are committed to improving their skills and are motivated to become competitive swimmers. Training is more regular and coach-led, helping swimmers refine technique, build endurance, and prepare for competitions.
We encourage students from our Learn to Swim Program to progress into Swim Teams as they continue to develop, providing a structured pathway for those who aspire to compete and reach higher levels in the sport.
Special Classes
Special Classes are our one on one classes or you may create your own group which will be handled by one coach. These classes provide a more focused attention and opportunity to work on specific skills or goals, making them ideal for students who want extra guidance
When enrolling in a special class, you’ll need to select a time outside of our regular class schedule. We recommend checking the schedule of our regular classes first so you can pick a slot that works best for you.
Special Classes are available at certain venues, and we’d be happy to help you find the best option for your child. Please contact us to check availability.
Private Classes
Private classes are our home service swim lessons, where one of our coaches will come to your pool. You may choose one on one classes or form a small group of 2 to 6 students.
This is a convenient and personalized way to help your child learn and improve their swimming skills in the comfort of home.
Private Classes are also subject to availability, please contact us if you’re interested so we can check if we have a coach available in your area.
SPED
We’re happy to support children with special needs! Some of our coaches have experience working with children who require extra guidance, and they adapt the lessons to help each student feel safe and confident in the water
For SPED students, we usually recommend one-on-one classes, which allows our coaches to provide more focused attention and adjust activities to the student’s abilities and comfort level.
If your child is ready to join our swim classes, we can schedule a trial or assessment to determine the best approach.
