We recommend staying at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel, our host hotel for the event. A special room rate is available for Ideas Festival attendees. The last day to book your room is April 24, 2026.

The Ideas Festival begins early Thursday morning and runs throughout the day. We strongly encourage guests to arrive in Sacramento on Wednesday evening to ensure you’re settled and ready for the start of programming.

Yes. Please email festival@calmatters.org with your order number to get your refund processed. Refund requests must be made by May 15, 2026.

The discounted rate is available to high school and college students and educators. You can register for your Festival student or educator ticket using your institution-affiliated email address. Tickets can be purchased here.

Business casual. Please keep in mind that summers in Sacramento can be quite warm, so we recommend lightweight, breathable attire. The venue will be air-conditioned, but you may also spend time outdoors, so dress comfortably for the season.

For a fast and easy experience, please bring your confirmation email or a government-issued ID to the main ballroom in the Sheraton Grand Hotel when you check in on May 21, 2026.

Yes. With your Ideas Festival badge, you may come and go as you please, subject to space availability. Hop around to catch your favorite sessions, step out for a meeting, or head out to take in some sights.
