It's a great day to be a Bulldog! I am so excited to be starting my 25th year as an educator back home in southern Oklahoma. I grew up in Marietta, OK, but have spent my career as an educator in Texas. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be part of the amazing school family and community of Calera.
My husband Steve (Mr. Evans) and I have five children and three grandchildren between us. When we are not at school we enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, gardening, and relaxing on our front porch.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Affairs and Administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1996, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2010 with my Masters in Education in School Counseling. I am currently working on my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from East Texas A&M University.
I believe that every student was created to be somebody! They all have unique gifts and abilities, and I get to be part of helping them find those things within themselves. Sometimes that means we work through the necessary bumps in their road that help them to adapt, overcome, and grow into the person they are meant to be.
