Being able to extract important and interesting information from what you read is an invaluable skill that will serve you will help you in every class and any time you have to read and understand a document (email, news article, contract, etc.). The flip side is being able to discuss and apply the information you extract. This, too, is critical!
🧭 During this studio, you will need to demonstrate that you can select, apply, and explain a variety of reading strategies to help you understand and analyze the texts and then write a clear informational essay that synthesizes a variety of sources.
Along the way, you will be exhibiting the following competencies:
Write a letter to your younger self (or to a younger sibling) explaining what to expect as they enter puberty in terms of emotional reactions and interpersonal relationships.
Visually represent your argument with a visual aid.
