Impacts in the Solar System

Grades 4-6: Interactive Livestream

Overview

Within the vast expanses of our solar system, between the planets and beyond, amazing discoveries about asteroids, comets, and meteors are currently being made. Students will take on the role of an astronomer by using hands-on models to explore "small bodies" in our solar system, and also take a guided virtual tour of outer space.

How does it work?

This program is a live event on YouTube that lasts approximately 30 minutes. Students will interact with the educators through hands-on activities. This program also works well for classes who meet asynchronously because the recording will be shared.

  • If you or your students cannot access the Student Activities tab above, you must contact your IT department to whitelist this website.

  • If you or your students’ district devices cannot access YouTube Live or YouTube videos, you can instead play the embedded Recording, which we will post within 48 hours of the broadcast.

  • Our programs are designed so that students can participate asynchronously; all interactive aspects such as Mentimeter polls and Padlet student submissions remain active through the semester.
