SBIRT stands for: Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment. SBIRT Support can be provided to Cadott Middle and High School Students by trained facilitators to students identified by staff, administration, or parents and guardians who feel their student would benefit from additional supports to succeed at Cadott Middle and High School.
Complete the referral form and select YES when asked about SBIRT!
Students participating are screened using the Global Appraisal of Individual Need Short Screener (GAIN-SS), which measures a student's risk level for Mental Health, Conduct Problems, Alcohol and Drug Involvement, and Crime and Violence.
Parental Permission is required for trained personnel to conduct this screener.
Brief Intervention consists of a few (2-4) individual sessions for students to work on goals identified from areas students have identified themselves as High Risk.
Following the series of Brief Intervention sessions, students who continue to show high risk levels and their families are provided resources and recommendations for community organizations that can continue to support them.
