Google's Gemini for Teens--Students 13 and up can use this as an AI tool (same URL as Gemini, but configured at the district level to allow students access to the teen version).
Microsoft's Copilot--Students under 18 cannot use, even with parental consent.
Securly's AI Chat--Beta program with our Securly subscription that K-12 students can use. Allows students to use AI but curbs unethical and promotes the academic integrity of student work since it is monitored by the district.
GPTZero--I've found this to be the best and most accurate tool in the tests I have run with it. This tends to detect AI writing, even from better AI tools, like Jenni.ai, which will write from PDFs and other academic documents.
Scribbr--Works better with smaller chunks of text, so break up what you want to check into smaller pieces.
Winston--This is a paid subscription service that detects AI and plagiarism.
Writer--Does a good job at detecting AI writing produced by ChatGPT, but not as well by tools like Jenni.ai. Works better with smaller chunks of text.
**When checking student work for plagiarism, it is best to cross-reference the text using a few of these tools. Also, be sure to know your student's writing by using formative writing exercises before you accuse a student of plagiarizing with AI. These tools are not 100% accurate.
Brisk--A Chrome extension that follows you around and offers you several AI tools to help make teaching and your life easier. Level texts, engage students in activities, make presentations, quizzes answer keys, DOK questions, lesson plans and more. Just search for and download the Brisk extension in the Chrome store.
Curipod--Create slides along with polls, word clouds, drawings, and open questions to use with students and have AI give students quick feedback when you are not available.
MagicSchool--Helps teachers with lesson planning, text leveling, family communication, translating, etc. A good tool to dabble in how AI can help you and, as of now, it is free (basic version, not plus).
LessonPlans.ai--Instantly generates lesson plans along with activities and resources for you to use as a teacher.
SchoolAI--A way to create an AI teacher aide that can help you accomplish more with students. Make lesson plans, brainstorm activities, and create Chatbots/Spaces that allow your students to engage with historical figures or your content when you can't be right there.
QuestionWell--Generates an almost endless supply of questions on topics that you can select from and use in your teaching.
Wisdolia--Auto-generates flashcards from any YouTube video, webpage, or PDF.
ChatPDF--Upload and chat with large PDF documents to find the answers you need quickly. This tool can be utilized to help students find answers quickly during research.
Freepik--AI tool that will take writing and generates unique images based on the text. Limited to 20 image generations a day.
Khanmigo--Khan Academy’s AI-powered tutor and teacher assistant. Cost is $9 a month.
MusicLM (Currently in Beta with Google and can only be used on personal accounts)--Takes writing/text and generates unique AI composed songs.
Stable Diffusion--AI tool that will take writing/prompts and generates unique images based on the text.
