While the show technically calls for five cast members, we have quite a bit of freedom to expand the "roles," as they're less about specific individuals and more about the character or persona each "scene" is presenting to the audience.

Performance dates: March 12-15.
PLEASE ensure you are available for both the performance dates AND the week leading into these dates before auditioning. Tech week rehearsals are March 8 through 11. All performances will be at The Market at the Cadillac Commons (behind the Cadillac 4 and next to After 26 just west of downtown Cadillac).
Auditioners should be at least 18 years of age by the date of the first performance.
Rehearsal dates and times: Rehearsals will typically be on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 or 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 3-6 p.m.

About the Show: Based on Robert Fulghum's best-selling books, Kindergarten takes a funny, insightful, heartwarming look at what is profound in everyday life. This tightly woven adaptation has earned standing ovations from Singapore to Prague— from L.A. to D.C. It's an evening of theatrical storytelling in revue format, with monologues, dialogues, and multiple voice narration, enhanced through the use of live piano underscoring, which provides fluidity, charm, and emotional texture. The delightful stories feature colorful characters such as: a shy little boy who insists on playing the "pig" in his class production of Cinderella and steals the show; a man whose dream of flying carries him high over Los Angeles … in a lawn chair buoyed by surplus weather balloons; a "mother of the bride" who's staged a perfect wedding—until the bowling ball of fate rolls down the aisle; and a modern-day Greek philosopher who finds the meaning of life in a piece of broken mirror from World War II. These stories celebrate our very existence, from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age.
The audition process will include reading portions of the script (please see “SIDES” for the selected pieces), and may also include auditioners being asked to "cold read," or read scenes from the script that are not provided beforehand (you'll be given some time to review the scene).
With regard to characters, the script calls for five individuals (three men and two women), but the show is flexible and can be expanded to allow for many more cast members. The "characters" are the individuals themselves, and they simply tell the stories as they might to friends and family.
