Maria Bethancourt graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and later completed a Master of Arts in Theology from St. Vladimir’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY. She has called many places home, including the country of Guatemala, where she lived and taught in an orphanage for 2 years. She speaks a bit of Spanish, French and Greek, which has helped her pursue her love of travel - 13 countries and counting! She is married and has two children.
