The Virtual Compassion Corner is designed for middle school and high school students to self refer for mental health support when they are having a difficult time in their life. They can meet with a counselor or school psychologist virtually during school hours to discuss current life situations that may be impacting their overall functioning.
Students complete the Virtual Compassion Corner form (CPA, MVA, PCA) to notify a counselor they are seeking help. Once the form is submitted, the student receives a confirmation notice and email that contain an appointment link. They can choose to set up a 20-minute phone call or zoom meeting during school hours. If the student does not sign up immediately, we will reach out to the student directly and check-in.
Our school offers small group counseling sessions led by mental health professionals as targeted support for referred students. These virtual small group instruction use evidence-based curricula to teach specific skills. The types of groups that are often offered include Regulation Groups, Executive Functioning/Organizational Groups, Social Skills Groups, and Stress Management Groups.
Parents/Guardians are invited to complete a Mental Wellness Referral Survey during the school year to refer your student enrolled at our schools to school-based SEL and Mental Health support and services
