All About Reading is an Orton-Gillingham-based phonics program incorporating five key components of reading: Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Decoding, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Course components include a Teacher's Manual, a Student Packet (which includes an activity book, review cards, and stickers), and hard-backed readers. The complete program consists of five levels: Pre-Reading (PK or K) and Levels 1 4 (grades K 3rd/4th). All teaching and lesson activities are multisensory with a strong emphasis on mastery learning based on reinforcement (games) and review.
World of Wonders builds a strong foundation for early literacy and provides developmentally appropriate instruction for early learners, ages three to five, including cross-curricular activities, a focus on social-emotional development, and preparation for kindergarten and beyond.
The Get Set for School program is the high-quality program you would expect from Handwriting Without Tears. This program was designed specifically for the preschool years and uses the fun methods you would expect for that age. This program employs a unique, multisensory approach that prepares children to write. Children will play, build, sing, color, and learn while developing important skills. Readiness & Writing Pre-K Teacher's Guide, now in its 8th edition, provides everything you need to understand the program and developmental stages to effectively teach the lessons. Topically, children learn the alphabet, letter and number recognition and formation, counting, shapes, colors, and drawing. The writing focus is on uppercase letters, while lowercase letters are taught toward the end of the year (beginning in Week 30) using the My First Lowercase Book. Complete explanations are given on how to use the suggested manipulatives. Lessons are easy to use and there is a suggested 36-week schedule found in the front of the book. Crayon skills are developed while using special pages for scribbling and coloring. Strokes are practiced on "Mat Man" before ever making a letter. Capital letters and numbers are then practiced using a crayon. There are also extra activity pages that check readiness skills.
Kumon Basic Skills Workbooks ensure that children master pencil-control skills with ease so that they love learning independently. Everything in our Basic Skills Workbooks—from the sturdy paper to the engaging content—is designed with the best interests of your child in mind.
Children develop fine motor control, sorting skills, and eye/hand coordination—with our engaging color sorting kit! Kids simply grip the sturdy tweezer tongs just like a pencil, then grab and sort the balls into the tubes by color—building the muscle control and coordination they need to begin writing!
The program emphasizes exploration, play, and positive reinforcement—encouraging children to become confident and intrinsically motivated. Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children and is especially effective for special education, homeschooling, and English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). It is widely used in schools that serve children with special needs and learning difficulties.
Write and Wipe ABC 123 shows children how to write the letters of the alphabet (capitals and lower case) and for each letter, provides pictures and words for children to trace. For the numbers, there are objects to count and both the numeral and the number word to trace.
The Moving Beyond the Page Age 4-5 level is an enriching, all-inclusive, hands-on program available for preschool or kindergarten homeschool families. Along the way, learn letters and sounds, vocabulary, and sight words, and practice handwriting.
