Colchester Avenue Allotments is one of Cardiff's oldest, and largest, allotment sites. We are a thriving site with over 450 plots, ranging in size from 3 to 10 perch, so there is something for everyone interested in growing. We have a range of facilities on site including a well stocked shop, water troughs, an onsite toilet and tarmac roads.
The site is run on a voluntary basis by a committee of allotment holders, under a locally managed agreement with Cardiff Council. The purpose of the committee is to manage the site for the benefit and enjoyment of the members, to support plot-holders and to promote community and social values within and beyond the allotment.
If you are interested in taking on an allotment you will need to add your name to the Cardiff Council Allotment waiting list here. We will contact you as soon as your name nears the top of the list - which is currently a wait of about 12 months.
We are also a charity whose mission is to support those in necessitous circumstances and to advance the education in horticulture.
How to find us
We are located to the North of Cardiff city centre, just off Newport Road.
