Please help your child get ready by:
Doing homework
Packing their backpack
Getting their uniform ready
Packing snacks, lunch or lunch choice, and water bottle
Yellow Folder: Comes home on Fridays. Please take out the papers and send the folder back on Monday. It has school papers and your child’s work.
Red Folder: This is for homework. We will send the whole math book home. Children can work at their own speed. Send back finished pages in the red folder. Sometimes we will also send other homework like flashcards or small projects.
Send 2–3 healthy snacks every day. Put snacks in a separate bag from lunch.
Send a water bottle with your child’s name on it.
Snacks stay in backpacks, lunches go in a lunch bin, and water bottles stay in the classroom.
Pack extra clothes in the backpack in case of spills or accidents.
We use EXPO markers. They may get on clothes. You can send a big shirt or smock to protect clothing. It will stay in your child’s cubby.
Please talk to your child each morning about what they will eat for lunch. They need to tell the teacher their lunch choice. This helps the kitchen prepare enough food. Look at the weekly menu here.
Let the teacher know how your child goes home:
After school program (Champions)
Car pick-up or walk-up
We use the same Driveline number as last year. Have the number ready in your car or when walking up. Staff and school leaders will help children walk in and out.
Your child may bring small gift bags for classmates on their birthday.
No birthday food or treats (some children have allergies).
We have 24 students.
If your child is having a party outside school, they can only bring invitations if everyone in the class is invited.
We help children learn to do things by themselves. Children should know how to:
Buckle and unbuckle their seat belt
Pack and unpack their backpack
Use school supplies
Button and zip their clothes
Clean up after themselves
Open their own snacks and lunch
Go to the bathroom and clean up by themselves
Tie shoes (if they are old enough)
