Math

Class Overview:

Saxon Math is divided into twelve sections. There are ten lessons and one investigation lesson in each section. Every 5 lessons, we will have one review lesson and then a test.

We will start the year by learning one lesson each day, For each lesson, unless otherwise specified, students will be assigned the "Lesson Practice" and a portion of the "Written Practice" as classwork. This is when students may practice the new skill independently, ask questions and/or get additional help. Any unfinished classwork, must be completed at home and turned promptly at the start of our next math class.

In addition, students will be assigned nightly homework to reinforce new skills taught that day. Unless otherwise noted, students will be assigned the lesson's corresponding "Reteach Worksheet." These worksheets also provide a step-by-step breakdown and notes that will aid in practicing the skill correctly at home.

Classwork and Homework should be attached, and turned in at the start of the next math class for review and grading. Students are expected to show their work whenever possible to receive full credit.

Things to Remember:

*Points will be deducted for any work turned in after the due date. After the second day, it will be entered into the grade book as a zero. Please see "Homework & Class Policy" for more information on late or missing work.

*Students are expected to show their work whenever possible to receive full credit.

*Please check the calendar nightly for classwork, homework, project and assessment dates/ due dates.
