ISTE Standards

At C2E most students attend STEAM for weekly rotations as an extra Specials course. During this time, students work on a variety of age-appropriate projects throughout the year. Many projects will be planned to coordinate with or supplement the classroom curriculum. Over the course of the year, students will be working on many technology skills. These skills are generally divided into the following three categories:

Productivity Tools: Students will use a variety of productivity tools to produce publications and other creative works while enhancing learning and increasing productivity and creativity.

Research: Students will use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources, to process data and report results as meaningful information, and understand ethical and legal issues related to technology.

Basic Operations: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the terminology and basic operations of technology systems, will be proficient in the use of technology, demonstrate an understanding of when to use it, and practice responsible use of technology and information systems.

C2E follows the NETS for Students (developed by ISTE) as a guideline for creating projects and teaching students proficiency skills.

STE's NETS for Students (NETS•S) are the standards for evaluating the skills and knowledge students need to learn effectively and live productively in an increasingly global and digital world.

Simply being able to use technology is no longer enough. Today's students need to be able to use technology to analyze, learn, and explore. Digital age skills are vital for preparing students to work, live, and contribute to the social and civic fabric of their communities.
