How do I register and pay for IB exams?
Students need to register for each IB exam they plan on taking via https://totalregistration.net/IB/050704. If you took an IB exam last year, use the login and password you used last year. Otherwise, you will need to set up a user name and password. The deadline to register for any IB exam is November 2, 2025. The cost for each exam is $130. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch pay $15 per exam. (Remember, there are TWO Total Registration pages - one for IB and one for AP).
You will pay online when you register at https://totalregistration.net/IB/050704. You may also mail in a check, money order, or cashier’s check to Total Registration – instructions provided online when you register.
Do I need to register for EE or TOK?
No. There is no fee for theory of knowledge or the extended essay assessment by diploma category students.
Do I need to register for the IB Theatre or IB Visual Arts exam even though scores are based exclusively on classroom-based assessments?
Yes. You will need to register and pay for the exam the year you are enrolled in the course.
What if my IB exam conflicts with an AP exam?
When a student’s AP and IB exams conflict, the IB exam takes precedence. The student will take the late AP exam. IB exams are not negotiable; there are no LATE IB exams. When two IB exams conflict, we must request special permission to start one of the exams later. The exam must still be given on the date assigned by IB. Please reach out to the IB Coordinator or your counselor for testing conflicts.
Where do I go to take my exams?
All IB exams will be located at South Hills High School. All subject exams take place over two days. More information to follow.
What should I bring with me?
Be sure to bring two or more ballpoint pens (black or blue), an approved model calculator for math and science exams. Review a complete list of what to bring and what not to bring in the 2026 Exam Overview.
When will I know my results?
Your scores will be available at https://candidates.ibo.org on July 6, 2026 anytime after 12 p.m. You will receive an email of an individual Personal Code and PIN following exams. PLEASE save this information. In the event that you lose your codes, please contact the IB Coordinator, Marisol Marquez, at mmarquez@cvusd.org
How do I send my scores to my college?
During senior checkout, seniors will be asked to complete a survey and indicate the college they will be attending in the fall. The IB Coordinator will send your IB exam results to the college you indicate on that survey free of charge.
If you are taking a gap year, or want to send your scores to another college after July 6, you will need to order an IB transcript. You must use rrs.ibo.org to order transcripts and pay the required fee. Keep your personal code and session number, as you will need these to order a transcript.
We will forward IB results for juniors taking exams next year, when they are seniors. You are always welcome to contact the IB Coordinator at mmarquez@c-vusd.org with questions.
Is it too late to withdraw from IB exams?
If you are still enrolled in your IB course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your plan to participate in exams. Unfortunately, students wishing to withdraw from any IB exam after November 15, 2025 will NOT receive a refund. If a student has not yet completed payment via https://totalregistration.net/IB/050704 they will still be required to pay. If a student decides not to sit for an IB exam, they will receive an “N” which means that the IB has not been able to provide a grade for this subject as all requirements have not been met.
ibo.org: In addition to finding scholarships, many institutions offer generous course credit for both the full IB diploma and individual DP course exams. While not comprehensive, consider this list to guide you through credit offerings at four-year and two-year institutions.
