Link Leaders are trained to work with the incoming freshman class and other new students who are entering BHS each fall. After an extensive training, Link Leaders run the majority of the freshmen class orientation, which is typically held on the first day of school. Each Link Leader is given a small group of freshmen to work with on orientation day and is asked to befriend and to help that group during the first week of school with any challenges they may face. Throughout the school year, Link Leaders meet with their “links” to touch base, discuss problems, and engage in social activities. We know that the more contact a freshman has with his/her Link Leader the more successful she/he will be.
