Coaches

Ben Halder  - 2025 will be Coach Halder's 10th season in Byron and his 25th year coaching football.    Coach is married to Bridgette and the couple have two daughters - Paige (NDSU) and Carly (12th grade).

Jake Harmon - Defensive Coordinator - is entering his 10th season leading the Bear Defense.  Coach Harmon has coached many different positions and levels while in Byron.  He is also the Head Varsity Fast Pitch coach.   Coach Harmon is married to Katee and are the proud parents of a two daughters - Taydem (6) and Brekkyn (1)

Josh Bernards - Offensive Coordinator - Coach Bernards has served at just about every level possible in his 12 years as football coach in Byron including 7th, C, JV, and Varsity. He is married to the wonderful Steph and they have one daughter Amelia (10) and two sons Levi (7) and Jonathon - JBIII (3).

Dan Storlie - Special Team Coordinator - has coached at various levels and positions in his 20 years of coaching football in Byron. He also coaches Track and Field as well as supports the weight room, speed development and equipment in Byron. 

Ben Pollock - Wide Receivers - JV - is in his 10th year coaching at Byron. He will call the JV offense.  In addition to coaching football, Coach Pollock also is our Head Girls basketball coach in Byron. He is married to Abbey, the couple has a daughter Palmer (6) a son Emmett (3), and they have two labs named Rizzo and Wrigley. 

 Jordan Boekoff - Offensive Line - 9th grade - will be in his 8th year coaching the Bears offensive line.  Coach Boekoff is a History/Social Studies teacher at the high school  His daughter Kennedy is his biggest fan! (4).

Craig Connelly - Defensive Line - Coach returns to the sidelines for a 10th year and is alum of the program.  He played on the 1990 semifinal team and played defensive line for the Mavericks of Makato State.   Coach is the proud father of Brenna  and Christian (Defensive lineman at Augustana SD).  

Luke Snell - Defensive Backs - returns to mentor the corners and safeties in 2025 and his 10th overall.    Married to Heidi and father of Camden (9th grade) and step dad to Easton (Bethany College MN).

John Stemper  - Linebackers - helps coach the linebackers, 9th grade team, offensive line, and almost any position he was needed to.  A true jack of all trades!  Proud father of two sons Reece and Curt

Matt Kaderly - 9th - Has been coaching with Byron for 14 years. Coach has been involved with many grade levels including JV, 9th, and 8th Grade. He played 5 years of college football at Winona State and has a passion for teaching kids the value of sport and teamwork.  Coach is married to Tara and has two sons - Trey age 9 and  Kade age 7

Mike Scheuer - 7th grade/Outside Backers - will be entering is 15th season with Byron Football.  Prior to this he spent a season coaching the La Crosse Aquinas freshman team.  Mike also spent 4 years playing football at Wisconsin-La Crosse and was a member of the 1995 National Championship team.  He is married to Carrie and the couple have 4 children- Megan, Drew (UW Stout), Luke (UW Stout), and Brooklyn 9th grade. 

Cody Peters - 7th - will be in his 4th year helping out our 8th grade.  Mr. Peters is a high school science teacher at Byron HS.  

Ryan Radke - 9th/Varsity - Coach Radke will coaching 8th grade this fall.  He is also the head wrestling coach in Byron.  Married to Holly and the couple have two great kids - Maryn (12th) and Merrick (9th)

Paul Gustafson - 8th - Coach G as he's affectionately know as is in his 6th year coaching football in Byron two seasons with the 9th graders and 4 seasons with our JH programs.  Married to Amber and the couple have twin boys - Carter and Reed (10th grade).
