Independent Learning Time
ILT is for self motivated and academically mature students who want to do independent studies or courses but they do not fit the timetable or are outside of the normal fields of school study. Students who take this subject will have proven a high level of independence in previous years of study. Courses could come from https://www.coursera.org/ or https://www.udemy.com/, also the Correspondence School http://www.tekura.school.nz/, or Gateway. This course may/or may not involve the gaining of credits. It could involve a passion project.
In an ILT course you will be supervised and supported by an OAS teacher within the time and place for another senior class, but course content will come from published online courses / instructions / tutorials / research.
A BYO Device is required for ILT.
