FCNL Spring Lobby Weekend is This Month!

Hello Friends! FCNL is hosting its annual Spring Lobby Weekend later this month. Unfortunately, the registration date for the in-person event has passed, but you can still register to attend online.  This year's focus is on asking Congress to allocate funding towards violence interrupter programs in the upcoming appropriations bill. Violence interrupter programs are important because they eliminate violence at the point of conflict. These programs also target the root cause of violence rather than exacerbate them. Violence Interrupters serve as credible messengers in their communities. Often, they serve as teachers, mentors and guide their community towards pro-social activities. For example, a lot of these programs offer communities with the opportunity of upward mobility by offering further education programs for people who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to pursue it. If you are interested, check out FCNL's website for more details.

If you are interested in lobbying for the Truth and Healing Bill we discussed during the workshop, you can use the email template below to contact your representative. If you don't know who your representative is, you can find them here.

BYM Camps CIT Program & Work Opportunities

Counselor-in-Training Program

We're launching a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program at Catoctin, Opequon, and Shiloh in 2023. If you're interested in experiencing what it's like to be a counselor for two weeks, and if you'll be 16-years-old by July 30, 2023, please complete and submit our short application form. To apply, or for more information about pay, dates, and responsibilities, check out the application.

Staff Applications

We're looking to hire great staff to work at all four of the BYM Camps -- Catoctin, Opequon, Shiloh, and Teen Adventure -- to help create an incredible experience for 600+ campers during Summer 2023. We're looking for counselors, trip leaders, support staff, kitchen staff, medical staff, and so much more. Maybe we're looking for you!

Many positions typically work the full summer -- eight weeks from mid-June to mid-August -- but shorter stints, alternate arrangements, and partial summers are possible, especially for certain positions. If you're a good match for us, and we're a good match for you, we'll do our best to make it work! To apply, or for more information about different positions, check out our official staff application
