How does this work?
Students are identified using universal screening tools (FastBridge) or classroom-based assessments. Students in need are placed in intervention groups. Groups are designed based on need of individuals in groups. Research-based curriculum is used by qualified individuals. Progress monitoring tools are then used several times a month.
After 8-10 weeks, interventions are evaluated information is gathered to see if they are being effective. At this time, they can be changed, added to or stopped. This is depending on each student's needs.
Meeting will be held with the interventionist and teachers to continue to support students.
Parents will be given progress reports or progress monitoring information during interventions.
What is an intervention?
Interventions are designed to "intervene" or step-in to help students struggling in one or more academic areas.
Interventions may require instruction outside of the classroom or in the classroom.
Interventions can be for academics or behavior.
The goal is to support students and work on deficit skills.
Can be done by one or more staff members in the school.
