Educating youth takes people who continually work to expand their skills. I appreciate your interest in Tech Camp because it shows you are one of those people. I also appreciate the members of the EdTech Team who have dedicated their time and talent to help you expand your skills in the area of technology, not just at Tech Camp but throughout the year as well.

If you submitted your session preferences earlier this year you are already signed up to attend Tech Camp. Those preferences were used to create the session schedule below. If you did not sign up earlier in the year please look over the schedule to see what we have to offer. If you decide to come please use this link to add yourself to the list of people attending.

There is no need to select specific sessions. You just need to show up at Viking at 7:30 am on August 9th and attend whichever sessions you would like. Please bring a laptop or Chromebook and whatever you need for lunch on your own. If you have any questions you can email me at dpaquette@bwsd.k12.wi.us.

Flip (formerly Flipgrid) is a video-based tool that allows for discussion across digital devices, but in a fun and engaging way that makes it fun in education. It can be a powerful learning tool for personalizing learning as well as interactive communication. We will look at how to create videos for your classes that allow students to learn at their own pace. Or instead of creating a lesson plan for your sub, teach the lesson yourself using your computer and have the sub play it.

Just when you think you have your lesson plans ready for the week, there's an interruption (i.e. snow/cold/ice day) or something takes longer than anticipated. Wouldn't it be great if you could simply push your lessons back a day without having to completely rewrite your weekly plan. This session will showcase the many features of Planboard: click and drag lessons, overlap last year's units onto this year's school calendar, track standards, and more!

This session will show how those tools connect and interact making Google Suite an even more powerful tool. It will also cover updates Google sends out this summer including the expected AI assistant in the Google Apps.
