GCSE Choices

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

It is my pleasure and privilege to share this GCSE information with you at the start of the process where you will make choices about your GCSE courses. This is one of the most important decisions you will make during your school career.

What subjects shall I study - what career path do I want to take?

Irrespective of the changes that are happening around us with regard to National discussions around qualifications and exams, we know that you need to have the most comprehensive range of knowledge and skill-based GCSE subjects to access the next stage of your education and/or training successfully. A broad repertoire of high value GCSEs will not only open doors for you - but will make you more attractive to sixth form centres, colleges and employers. Therefore, our GCSE offer has been constructed carefully by experienced subject specialists. It is designed to allow you to study subjects in depth as well as to enrich your understanding of the world around you furthering your academic, intellectual and personal growth.

Although we are a young school, our teachers are experienced at teaching GCSEs and A level courses. We are excited at the prospect of delivering and supporting you through them.

Over the next few weeks and months, it is important that you gather as much information as you can to support your decision making. Ask questions, do some research, listen to independent careers advice and the subject presentations given by your teachers.

Please spend some time going through and discussing this guide with your parent(s)/carer(s), as ultimately, they will be the ones supporting you throughout your GCSE studies.
