Meet the LRC Team

Ms Devine

Librarian and LRC Manager

I am delighted to join Bullers Wood School for Boys as the new school librarian, having worked in schools since 2013. Originally from Manchester, I attended Leeds University to study English Literature and Languages BA (Hons). I love reading, listening to music and visiting the theatre; I am very enthusiastic about the transformative power of the imagination and making connections to other people’s stories.

Our library is right at the heart of the school, both literally and metaphorically. I am looking forward to discovering the students’ reading tastes and needs, in order to build the collection further. WB Yeats said “education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire” and I hope that the our library will provide plenty of fuel for those fires!

The school community has been incredibly welcoming and I am really enjoying getting to know the students and staff.

I am always happy to listen to the students’ ideas, so please come and say hello!

Library Leaders

We have an amazing team of library leaders across the year groups who volunteer their time during breaks and lunches to help keep the library in order so that everyone in school can enjoy our books.

They do a fantastic job: they put back the books and help with cataloguing, check books are assigned to the correct genre, and even interview staff to create book reviews for the school newsletter. They are an invaluable resource to our library and school; I am so grateful for their services and company!

Keep up the amazing work.
