How Does i-Ready Classroom Mathematics Prepare My Student for Future Success?

To prepare students for college and career success, math instruction has shifted from primarily memorizing steps for getting answers to developing deep, conceptual understanding of how the math works. But success in the 21st century involves more than just academic achievement. It also requires essential skills that extend beyond math. That’s why i-Ready Classroom Mathematics incorporates 21st-century skills into your student’s daily math instruction.

i-Ready Diagnostic (given 3 times a year)

The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your child’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.

Diagnostic tests like these need to ask students questions that are too difficult for them in order to find out just what students know (and don't know). In this way, helping a student with questions on the diagnostic can set them up for future failure, when i-Ready sets their level higher than it should be. The diagnostic is not used to grade students, but to determine what they need to work on next. Students should always try their best on the diagnostics

i-Ready Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your child can learn at a pace that is just right for them.
