These trees are planted using a Miyawaki forest method. This method uses the idea of a competing ecosystem to fuel the trees’ growth by simultaneously planting different levels of other plants, creating a semi-ecosystem environment. With the trees now competing for resources, their growth can be ten times faster than ordinary planting methods. Because with no competition, the trees can grow at a leisurely pace. But with the added plants also fighting for natural resources, there is now a reason for the trees to accelerate their growth speed.
