Welcome to Physical Science! I look forward to getting to know you as well as learning alongside you. In Physical Science we’ll explore the non-living components and systems of the world around us, focusing on physics (semester 1) and chemistry (semester 2). I hope to support your scientific curiosity and critical thinking, and I hope we can make lots of connections between Physical Science class content and the world around us. We will do laboratory demonstrations and investigations, projects, individual and group work, teacher-led instruction, and more.
I believe that everyone in this class can find success! Respect and safety are central as is active participation! This includes participating and contributing during activities and actively engaging and asking questions during lectures. Reviewing and studying the content covered in class multiple times per week outside of school will help you be successful on course exams.
Communication is really important. Talk to me if you are confused or frustrated, if you are experiencing extenuating circumstances, or if you need support in some way. We can’t necessarily fix frustrations or grades in one day, but we can work together to make things better. I look forward to getting to know you as well as learning alongside you! I am not too proud to say “I don’t know, let me look into that.”
