Hi. My name is Cacia Steensen and this is my ninth year teaching science at Centaurus High School. I am someone who is truly passionate about science education. I believe that every young person deserves access to a high-quality education that will prepare them to have all of the skills necessary to choose their own path in life. Science is a subject that requires creativity, curiosity, and logical reasoning. For that reason, I believe that science serves as an important place for young people to develop their critical thinking skills and expand their possibilities in life. Plus, science (especially Biology) is awesome!
I studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology as well as Science Education at the University of Colorado – Boulder (Go Buffs!). I received my Master's degree in Urban Education from the University of Colorado - Denver. I have lived in Colorado nearly my whole life and I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful state. I enjoy hiking with my family and my dog, Laika, and I love any opportunity to be outside. I live with my husband and our adorable and busy toddler, Ari. I am proud and excited to be a Centaurus Warrior.
