Transition Metals

• Transition metals are found in groups 3 through 12 on the periodic table

• Have high melting and boiling points

• These are hard, shiny, dense, malleable, and ductile metals ("metaly metals")

  • remember malleable means they can be bent and hammered without breaking

  • ductile means they can be pulled into wires
