My goal is to meet the diverse social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. Our program focuses on helping students achieve academic and personal success through a variety of preventive and developmentally-appropriate activities.
In order to meet different needs, our counseling program offers many services for you and your child.
Services include:
Whole classroom lessons: Address broad developmental topics (Ex: Self-esteem, social skills, problem-solving skills, career awareness, etc.).
Small groups: Available for students who share similar concerns and may benefit from the group experience (Ex: Children of divorce/separation, grief/loss, executive functioning, self-regulation, friendship skills, etc.).
Individual counseling: Available for students who have specific needs. It is brief and solution-focused. Typically, students who need more support than a few individual sessions will be referred to our Behavioral Health Advocate (Jamie Smalley) and/or an outside agency.
Consultation: Please let me know if you would like to speak with me (email, phone, or in-person) and brainstorm different strategies to support your child at home and/or school.
