Reading for pleasure and knowledge is a huge focus in 5th grade. Students will need to read for 30 minutes each evening and will write a reading response every several weeks about the books they are reading. Please use this template, also available in our classroom, to capture your reading responses.
From approximately January to May, students will create a monthly reading project about the independent book they are reading and present their independent reading project to the class at the end of each month.Â
