Hi! I’m Andrea, and I’m so happy to be entering my fifth year at Nederland Elementary! I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community and to work alongside our students, families, and staff.
What I love most about being a school librarian is that no two days are the same! I love getting to know students as readers, helping them discover books that capture their interests, and watching their confidence grow as they find stories they connect with. I also love creating a space where students can be curious, creative, and excited to learn. Getting to work with every student from kindergarten through fifth grade is one of the best parts of my job. Whether we’re exploring a new book, learning how to find and evaluate information, creating something together in the Makerspace, I love the relationships I get to build with students over the years.
Outside of school, I have two children who attend school in Boulder and a husband who teaches math at New Vista High School. Although Colorado is home for our family, we’ve had the opportunity to live abroad twice—once in Australia through a teacher exchange program and once in Taiwan, where we studied Chinese. We now live in the foothills and love spending time outdoors hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. We also love reading and traveling, and we’re always looking for our next adventure.
I’m so grateful to be part of the Nederland community and look forward to another wonderful year of reading, learning, and growing together!
