Hello Everyone:
We live in interesting times. First and foremost, I hope you and your family are doing well. I miss seeing you face to face. Now that we are here, I want to assure you that we will get through this school year together.
There is currently no academic expectation of you until the morning of March 30th. However the below information will help you start thinking of expectations and platforms to be used after spring break.
First, we will be changing online platforms over to Schoology. Please visit the site there (see below for course codes if you need them). I will be posting materials online (videos, PowerPoints, and handouts) with a class schedule and due dates.
For Physical Science: I do understand that not everyone has access to printers and certain technology. As a back-up, hard-copy materials have already been copied and stuffed into envelopes. They will be sent out next week and you will receive them before March 30th.
Additionally, it may be a good idea to download “Google Hang out” onto your devices for video conferencing options. It is unclear if classes will be taught with these platforms, but they are a great tool to talk in smaller groups and provide an online forum for me to answer questions during set times.
Please stay tuned, for I am still building and developing these platforms to fit the needs of the class. In the meantime, please take care of yourself and we will connect on March 30th. Be sure to check the class Schoology page on Sunday March 29th for clear instructions regarding our online kick-off Monday March 30th.
Take care!
Ms. Ducey

Physical Science is a lab-based, inquiry‐oriented course involving principles and concepts concerning the physical world. Content areas explored include nature and behavior of matter, atomic theory, chemical and physical changes including bonding and reactions, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, light and sound, and energy. The course emphasizes the study and proper use of fundamental science tools including the metric system, periodic table, and graphing.
Welcome to the Physical Science web page at BHS! Physical Science was designed to introduce our students to the awe-inspiring content of both Physics and Chemistry before focusing studies in upperclassmen courses. This course will cover fundamental concepts of physics first semester while delving deep into chemistry second semester.
This will be a year packed full of some of the most exciting science content around!
Khan Academy is an impressive resource for both Physics and Chemistry with many helpful tutorials on the content covered in this course.
