Hi there! I have been working as a special education teacher at Fireside since 2018. I am originally from Long Island, New York, and moved out to Colorado to start my teaching career in 2015. I attended the University of Delaware where I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and later completed my Master’s in special education at the University of Northern Colorado.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy practicing and teaching yoga, running, reading, and hiking with my husband and dog, Zelde. I feel very grateful to be part of the Fireside community!
I am thrilled to be Fireside’s ELD Teacher! I have been in the district for 20 years, and began my journey at Fireside in 2009 as an ELD teacher. Over the years I have also taught K, 3rd and 4th grades, and spent 4 years teaching at international schools in Honduras and Ecuador.
I moved to Boulder in 1993 to attend CU, where I received my BA in Kinesiology and my MA in Elementary Education with an emphasis on educating culturally and linguistically diverse students.
I love to travel and visit far out places, getting to know the beauty of the world, its people and diverse cultures. I also love enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and yoga. I feel so fortunate to have an amazing family that loves to do all these adventures together!
Hello! I have been a special education resource teacher at Fireside Elementary since 2014. I feel honored to be part of the Fireside Falcon community, it feels like a big family. Prior to that, I taught in Jefferson County as a special education teacher for 9 years. I made the switch from Jeffco to BVSD when my family decided to move to east Boulder. My husband and I have two kids, an elementary aged girl and middle school aged boy. I am a 4th generation native to Denver, attended CU-Boulder for undergrad and feel blessed to be teaching and raising my kids right here in the Louisville/Boulder area! For fun, I enjoy reading, hiking, yoga, tennis, mountain biking (a total beginner!), and exploring the outdoors.
Hi Fireside Falcons!
I feel so lucky to have been Fireside’s School Psychologist since 2009! The Fireside community is a very special one, and I am happy to live here too! I grew up in Denver, went to Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and returned to earn my PsyD at the University of Denver.
I began my career as a School Psychologist in 1998 with Aurora Public School and slowly moved closer to home. When I am not working, I LOVE to travel, and lived in Hungary as a college student, and have continued the adventures since, including a recent trip to Ireland. My partner and I have two sons, age 21 and 17, and to fill the emptying nest, I help foster dogs and cats. My hope as your School Psychologist is to form great relationships with you and your student, so we can navigate elementary school together.

Hi! My name is Molly Kobus and I am so excited to be a part of the Fireside community! I am the mom to two girls--Lilly Anne, 6 and Emiline 4. We recently moved from Boulder to Louisville and am looking forward to working in the community I live in. I grew-up in Arlington, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia for my undergrad and graduate degrees. For the first nine years of my career, I taught elementary school, was a learning strategist, and teacher coach, but in 2015 I made the decision to go back to school and get my degree in School Counseling.
In my free time, I love to go trail running, biking with my family, or spend time in the mountains. We also spend much of the summer months back East visiting family and friends. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!
I am proud to have the opportunity to be a part of our incredible Fireside staff and community as the ILC/AIM Autism Teacher. I have a true passion for working as a special education teacher and helping each child progress in all areas of their development; academics, social, functional communication, daily living skills, self regulation and building classroom readiness skills. This is a challenge that I am honored to accept on a daily basis and strive to create a community of learners that nurture this growth in a positive fun environment. The absolute most special moments are those moments in time that happen each day…the little laughs, the small and large accomplishments, the things children say and do, and the things we do to make each day as positive as possible.
I have been teaching special education for the past 23+ years in the capacity as a special educator in the areas of significant support needs and as an autism teacher. I have always had a desire to work with diverse learners with the intent to prepare each student for a successful and positive learning experience within an inclusive school and community environment.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, playing golf, gardening and enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors. I am married to my husband Tim and have two fantastic adult children, and an amazing grandson that has stolen my heart.
I grew up in Minnesota and come from a family of educators, including a grandmother who was a kindergarten teacher and a mother who is a speech-language pathologist. I hold a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. Ski trips to Colorado as a child gave me an appetite for adventure. I landed in BVSD and at Fireside in 2013, a perfect place to help kids and access the outdoors. I love working with other educators and parents to help students become strong learners and believe that all students can participate productively in the regular education experience. When not working, I spend free time with my two young boys and husband, preferably outdoors.
Hi! My name is Kristy Kojcsich. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Autism Studies and hold a K-12 licensed special education certification. I have worked with young children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities for the past 18 years in a variety of settings including community, home, school, and clinic. I value evidence based practices, learning from colleagues and mentors, being a team player, and collaborating with all team members to achieve optimal outcomes for an individual. During my free time, I enjoy caring for our 2 furry pals, Ollie (Dachshund) and Tanzania (kitty), gardening and populating my house plant collection, fitness activities, and creating new adventures with my significant other, Craig.
Recently on a hike with a friend I was asked why I got into Speech Language Pathology. I shared that, as a child, I had an opportunity to meet the speech language pathologist in my elementary school and I loved thinking about the opportunity to help others use their voice. Fast forward to college at the University of Iowa when I took a language development course and I was hooked. I received my MS at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I started my career in the Chicago area in a pediatric inpatient/outpatient setting and then moved to the public schools while continuing private practice. My husband and I moved to Colorado in December 1999 and I started working for BVSD in the Fall of 2000. I recently joined the Fireside community in the Fall of 2019 and have felt so welcome. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. I’m an avid reader and always have 2-3 books going at the same time. Let me know if you have some good books to recommend.
Hello! My name is Jessica Hebeler and I am very honored to be part of the Fireside community. I have been working in Boulder County for the past 20 years serving and supporting children and families. I am a licensed clinical social worker and worked as a clinician for Boulder County Mental Health Partners and Boulder County Housing and Human services prior to becoming a Mental Health Advocate for BVSD. I grew up in Ohio and moved to Colorado to attend The University of Denver where I received my Masters in Social Work and fell in love with this beautiful State.
In my free time I love to spend time with my family, travel, hike, run and enjoy the mountains. I have two daughters who are 7 and 10 that constantly inspire, teach and challenge me to grow. I am looking forward to connecting with all of you and am very grateful to be part of this awesome community.
Greetings fellow Fireside Falcons Family!
I am so happy to continue to be a part of our Fireside community! While many of you may already know me from my time in second grade, there have been a few changes over the past summer and I am proud to be supporting our primary Falcons in literacy and math this year!
A little more about me: I am Shannon Pischke and I have been an educator since 2005. My education journey began with completion of my undergrad at the University of Wyoming where I earned a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Cultural Diversity. After teaching the second and third grades in the Cherry Creek School District, I went back to school to earn my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and had the opportunity to work as an Elementary Technology Specialist, as well as a building technology coach. After ten wonderful years teaching in CCSD, I met my husband, a native of Louisville, and moved west to teach for Boulder Valley Schools. I have been teaching second grade at Fireside for the past seven years and I absolutely love our community! We are a small, special, and truly inclusive community that fosters a love of learning.
When I'm not at school, I spend my time with my family reading, hiking, cooking, dancing and adventuring! I am looking forward to a new school year!
