Lettering is a type of award which is handed out in all sporting and extra-curricular events, including music, in high school.
Students must not only work hard in-class to achieve a letter in orchestra, but must provide service to orchestra outside of class. Lettering is not tied to the grade in any way and lettering applications are due by the end of April (application below).
Here are just a few of the items that go toward Lettering:
Participating in Orchestra Fundraisers
Achieving section leader (points are per concert)
Being in orchestra all four years (no semesters off)--ONLY AVAILABLE TO SENIORS
Participation in CHS Musical
Stage crew and/or help tuning at any middle school concert
Participating in one or more Honor Orchestras
Participation in Lessons
Participation in Summer Music Camp
Parents volunteer and/or are on The Rosin Club board
NOTE: Music letters are awarded at the Spring Concert and Awards Banquet in May.
