Welcome to our blog!

My name is Kimberly Becker and I teach IB/AP physics and general physics at Centaurus High School in Lafayette, CO, in the Boulder Valley School District. I sponsor the Centaurus Physics Club, and our student group called the "Centauri Stars" are currently working on an international particle physics experiment in Europe through the CERN Beamline for Schools program. My excellent colleague, physics teacher Hasan Elsayed, is joining us as the second team coach. See the winning announcement and an article in the Denver Post. We first started doing particle physics outside of school in 2018 when a motivated group of 3 students wanted to join the competition, and now we are finally bringing 10 students to Germany and Switzerland to run their own experiment.
