Spring & Summer 2022 Achievements

In Spring 2022, The Wave  Open (aka "boys team") placed 5th in the Open Division State Championship and Flower Power won the peer-voted Spirit of the Game Award for the Girls Division State Championship.

In Summer 2022,  nine (9) of our players represented Colorado as part of Colorado's U-20  Boys' Division (Cutthroat), U-20 Girls' Division (Cutthroat),  and U-17 Boys' Division (Cutthroat) teams at USA Ultimate's Youth Club Championship tournament. They competed with teams from across the country and both teams.

In Summer 2022, former captain and four-year player, Abbie Gillach competed internationally as a member of Team USA (U20)  in the Women's Division at the World Junior Ultimate Championships in Wroclaw, Poland. The team went undefeated and won the gold medal in a nail-biting final game against France.

Fall 2021: A New Team Name & Continued Success

The Wave (X  roster)  went 6 - 0  at the  Monarch Invite (October 9 - 10, 2021), winning this annual mixed (aka coed) tournament  for the first time in the history of the BHS Ultimate club. The Wave X beat teams from strong programs belonging to Monarch High School, Fairview High School, and Lakewood High School in the process of winning the tournament.

Both The Wave X and the Wave Y competed at the 2021 Colorado HS Mixes State Championships (November 6 - 7, 2021). The Wave X  finished  5th out of 16 teams in Division 1 of the Colorado HS Mixed State Championships. The Wave Y finished 2nd in Division 2 of the Colorado HS Mixed State Championships.

The Wave rocked the boat.

State Champions 2017 & 2018!

BHS FLOWER POWER team took FIRST PLACE at USA Ultimate's Colorado State Championship in Spring of 2017 and again in Spring of 2018! Flower Power was undefeated both seasons.

In Spring 2021, HULA Open (aka "boys team") placed 5th in the Open Division State Championship and Flower Power placed 2nd in the Girls Division State Championship.

In Summer 2021, five (5) HULA Open players represented Colorado as part of Colorado's U-20  (Cutthroat) and U-17 (COSmic) teams at USA Ultimate's Youth Club Championship tournament. They competed with teams from across the country and both teams finished higher than their original tournament seeding.

Our teams bring the FUEL and the FIRE as we DO WORK.

The Boulder High Ultimate club is known for having high "Spirit of the Game."

"Spirit of the Game" is the central principle of Ultimate.  It means integrity, community, respect, and working through conflicts and disagreements with  compassion both ON the field and OFF. Games are played without referees and players at all levels make their own foul and rules infraction calls, and resovle their own disputes. The goal is for the fair and correct outcome, not the "win."

Flower Power's Girls Division's peer teams  have  voted "FlowPow"  as the winner of the Spirit of the Game award at the State Champions over 7 times, most recently in Spring 2022. You can see HULA and Flower Power's trophies in the Boulder High trophy case.
